I'm looking for a good, inexpensive hotel in Barcelona, with a somewhat central location. I don't want to be out in the boonies or have to travel to far on the metro. I don't want a hostel.

Try the Gravina H-10. Is a centric hotel near Plaza Cataluña, the metro and the Corte Ingles. I stay for 2 weeks a year ago. The prices are relative good, I pay some 200 e. per night for two interconnecting rooms.
note : they have free Cava on the lobby.

Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north.

I love Barcelona! Ok, one I could recommend, this is years ago when we went - 1996 to be exact - is the Hotel Astoria. It's really nice but very reasonable and very accessible to all of the sites and downtown Barcelona. Enjoy your trip!

Here is their site:

Head over to http://www.resideo.com/es/barcelona/ and click the "Check Availability" button. Choose your dates, then sort the results by price -- that will give you the cheapest places listed first, and you can then read more about each hotel, view the rooms/rates & book online.

Have fun!
