Just be yourself, and try not to copy other ppl's dressing styles.
Dress how YOU would normally dress.

Well, when I hear the word preppy, I think of someone who wears polo shirts, khakis, Birkenstocks and the like. I think it's someone who wears A&F, American Eagle, Hollister, or Bebe clothes....basically, someone who always looks nice and is somewhat of a label wh*re.
(I hope I'm not giving you dated information...it's been a while since that kind of thing has come up in a conversation).
How can you not be a prep? I don't know....just be yourself. Of course, that poses a problem if you genuinely like that style of dress, doesn't it??
I guess I need more info as to how you want to avoid being a prep.

prep is another word for girly. they usally wear alot of bright colors. Like Hollister, and Aeropostal. Thats all i know. srry. hope this helped.
