I drive a 1997 Audi A6 Quattro that i have replaced its battery in i believe at the beginning of the year. A few days ago i left my ipod charger in the cigarette lighter for somewhere between 1 1/2 - 2 days. My car wont start and i've had it on a trickle charger for 2 days straight, yet still nothing. There are no lights when i turn the key, even emergency lights dont show up. My dad told me that i need a new battery. Is this true, because i cant believe i killed an fairly new battery with an ipod charger

If you jump start the car, leave the two cars hooked up for 20 minutes to spread the charging load over two alternators---otherwise, you may cook the alt on your car as well. Best thing is to have it charged and load tested at a parts store like Autozone or a garage. An Ipod should not have drained the battery that much to make it go dead.

I guess it could be... it would seem that a pretty new battery would be able to take a charge, but it doesn't look like it is in your case. Why don't you have the battery tested?

A trickle charger won't do it. you need a charger with more amperage. Remove it, take it to a service station and have it charged on a professional charger.

Yes you drained the battery. Jump start it, drive it for a while, then get it tested to make sure its OK.
