I had a real experience.
What would happen, if you saw one and everybody said:
There is no such thing.
How would you feel?

=======================
***************************************
The story:
***************************************
I went camping in England, in some
woods, just a field away from my mum
and dad's house.
They live on their farm.
I like to visit it.
There isn't much population.
Just a village half a mile away.
I went to where there was a burnt
out house, made of wood; more
a cabin.
It was a fair bit at night, we went
to look for our chocolate retriever, he ran
from the camp, chasing something.
Alex, the retriever, jumped onto the
decking of the burnt house.
Then I heard a loud snarl.
At first it looked like a bear.
I had just hidden behind the large
oak tree between the camp and burnt
cabin.
It was looking around for the dog and
chased it into the fields.
I went back to my parents house
and said that I couldn't be bothered
to sleep in the muck.
Alex was missing.
Later that day we found a shredded
remains of Alex.
I couldn't tell my parents, living so...

It made very loud, snarling noises.
It sounded like a wolf, but on a bad
day.
It was hairy and it's head was the
shape of a wolf.
It had not got a tail, more extremely short.
It was rather large, it climbed like an
ape, had intelligence of a man and
was shaped as the typical werewolf.
It was definitley black or extremely dark-furred.
Should I tell my parents??? Warn them?

What would I do? - I would run! Becuase chances are I would be fresh out of silver bullets, and those warewolfs are durn easy to provoke! Then I would use my mad sleuthing skills to find out who the warewolf is when he/she's not wolfing out. Then I would determine whether or not this fiend had a nasty agenda or was a victim of an unlucky bite. If the latter, I'd try to help. If the former, I'd research a way to bring down the beast.
As for the second part of your question - no one believing me would be frustrating, but not surprising. I'd be very careful about who I tried to tell. Most people are unwilling to believe in much. But there are a few that with a little proof would realize I wasn't lying, and could be recruited to my aid!
Then I'd turn my experiences into a best-selling YA novel that would sweep the nation and FINALLY get me a niche in the publishing world.
Yes, you heard me. I'd exploit it.

Well... I believe you, people often say that werewolves (in their changed state) resemble large bears from a distance. Anyways, I'm sorry for your dog. Glad you're okay though. Could you please explain how exactly you knew it wasn't a bear, or what it looked like (specifically)? That might help. Also, did it make any noises?
I know I probably sound rather idiotic now, I suppose - asking all of these questions. But I'm just taking you seriously because I've encountered quite a few werewolves close up myself. I have scars to prove it, and I've seen and heard them (and no, I'm not crazy or on drugs, alchohol, medication, or any other substances).
And now I realize I've rambled on without answering your question. The first time I saw a werewolf I told the police. They threw it off as a bear and told me to go home and get a good night's sleep. They said werewolves weren't real. It really made me mad at first, then I got rather depressed. Soon after, I decided to go back into the forest (about 10 miles outside of town, basically in the middle of nowhere) and nothing happened. A few more of these same trips and I realized that I must have been imagining it so I threw it off as a bear myself until one night I saw another one. I know they're real, I've seen them on six different occasions, usually just one, but sometimes in twos or threes, and I've been scarred by them twice. Again, I'm NOT crazy or on drugs, alchohol, medication, or any other substances. Believe what you will.

The one you saw sounds like a "common" or Lesser werewolf. they are very unpredictible and the best thing you can do is exactly what you did. If it was a greater werewolf you might have been able to talk to it and get away. There are only 8 greaters but they rarely travel to this plane. If you should meet a extremely large (6-6 1/2 feet at shoulder) silver wolf with deep Black eyes and a scar down the face that is silverfang he could be a strong friend if he likes you. The others I have never seen so I cant desribe them.

Load your self up with silver. Take some pics of the dog before you burry it. Take the pics to a vet or somethng like that. Ask if they know what could do that to a dog. Then I would start doing some research, by day. And lock all the doors and windows carefully at night for now. Start reading some local tabloids and talking to local "looneys" because you never know...

I would call it a "nice doggy" and then run away as fast as I can. Which isn't very fast. It would pounce on me and bite me or maul me to death and that would be either the end of me or the start of the werewolf me. Personally, I'd choose the latter. Then I could join it on its mission to take over the world because that's what werewolves are trying to do. We all know it, but the government is covering it up. Why? Because they're all werewolves too. They don't want everyone knowing they're werewolves so they say they don't exsist. They take young children from their mother's and turn them into werewolves too and then they raise them to be brutal and horrible. That's the truth and now you all know it!

haha LUCKY!!!
sorry about your dog though. I'm not going to say anything about drugs because thats annoying and people say it to me all the time. I'm not so sure I believe, I don't even know you and probably will never meet you. I'm sorry about your dog and if that was me I'd chase after and make it turn me into one too and we'd be cursed together...
lycanthropy is awsome.
But-I still doubt you saw a werewolf.
But...what do I know.
My assumption is you made up that story to see how many answers you got, or perhaps you were bored....perhaps you really saw one o.O...perhaps it was a bear, perhaps I should stop talking...
and got on with my life....
like you should.

Most of you people missed the point. He isn't asking waht you would do if you saw one, he's asking what you would do if you saw one and nobody believed it.
Give up. You can't convince people of what they won't believe. But you cannot allow yourself to believe that you are insane! You must accept that they will not believe anything you say. But that said, you must accept what you know you have seen. Doubt is a very potent force; doubting your own senses and reasoning is a terrible thing to do.
That is what I do, and it works for me.

Dude, you could warn your folks. But if they believe you, is a completely different story. Whatever you do, you're screwed. Cause once a werewolf has got your scent, he tracks you down, toys with his prey for a while, and when he or she goes hungry, well you know what happens next. whenever you run into a werewolf, ther really isn't anything else to do but just run, and hope that it doesn't catch you.

I would be pretty freaked out, but I wouldn't care what other people had to say. As long as I knew the truth. People always will try to discredit what they haven''t seen or refuse to recognize. I take the position of you never know what's out there.

Scream, faint, run away! something like that!
If I saw one I would check myself into the nearest mental health hospital to find out if I was having hallucinations. If I really had seen one and no one believed me I would do a lot of research and find out if it had ever happened before to any one.
