Has bee prescribed municipal marijuana…

Would they be able to play in the NFL? They would certainly test postive for a banned substance.

If yes, then Ricky Williams could get dope prescribed to him for social anxiety disorder and play for one of the California teams...

Agreed?

In the NFL a "banned" substance is a banned substance, even IF it is prescribed by a medical doctor.
Example: Steroids are a banned substance, they do have clinical uses and some doctors will prescribe them to you but if you are an NFL player, you will be suspended for steroid use.
Even if, this would work , who in California would want him anyway? The Chargers have LT, The Niners have Gore and The Raiders well.......they are the worst team in football anyway.

No even if it was alright for him to use. He still would not be able to play bc it is on the list of banned substances in the NFL now if it was only on there for the reason that it is illegal he might have a case

Tis a possibility, but not very likely, the raiders and chargers have solid starters and back-ups, but the 49ers do not like people with character, so he will probably never join a california team.

He would be banned from playing in the NFL. It doesn't matter if it is legal or not. Alot of the banned substances are not illegal for people to take.

I see your point but the NFL would probably ban him anyway and recommend that he see a psychiatrist who could prescribe him medication that ISN'T illegal by their standards.

Intresting question. I think you would have to make it legal in the U.S. first though. IF they could have it legally prescribed to them then I would say while they are in the U.S. then yeah you almost would have to let them go. After all BANNED SUBSTANCES are ok IF it was under Doctor's orders.

He would be a FORMER NFL player. If he has to have medicinal marijuana, he has a serious illness (cancer) that is going to require more than a few doobies to treat.
