I painted my house 20 yrs ago . I washed down to remove caulk with bleach & water Its held up great to PA winters and been repainted once since.

You can get a regular cleaner . I use a good exterior house paint . I have done several and one was even a dark blue looks good after 6 yrs. (little fade) Good luck

I would advise using Latex house paint. The aluminum expands and contracts with heat. Paint the ends of the siding (at corners) early in the day so the siding is contracted, or the old color will show the next morning or when temps cool off. Try to stay in the same "darkness range" as the original color. Too dark a color will cause more expansion and may wreck the siding or the paint job.
