hi
i have been suffering from a neck injury since nov 2005 . i am always in pain and always feel presure on my c-spine . its always poping and cracking uncontrolably every day . i bear through the pain with meds or no meds . the mri stated it was a nerve inpingement at c-6 . with every breath i take i can feel the presure on the impinged nerve and cracking . here is the wierd thing . the impinged nerves seem to travel from the left side to the right . here is why i think it might be dislocated . when i lay down i can feel the separation in the c-spine and its loud . it has been doing this forever now and im am sick of it . it makes the bones shift around and that is when the pain gets worse and worse to where its unbearable . now here is the thing . when im laying down flat on my back and i put my finger there and aply just a little presure i can feel and hear the separation louder and feel it separate further than normally . do u think its dislocated ? i need 2 know

My gosh you have had this for a year and a half and have not been to a CHIROPRACTOR to repair the problem???????

Get to a good Chiropractor and get an adjustment. It will take 2 or three a week for probably a month, to get this right, since it has been out of place for so long. The muscles shorten to the wrong length when vertebrae are out of alignment. So it will take a bit to get it corrected.

He or she just needs to realign the vertebrae which will unpinch the "impinged" nerves. You will feel much better amazingly fast.

In the mean time one of those sponge collars would probably help considerably. It helps hold your neck in its correct position day and night if you can.

Twenty five years ago I got T boned in an auto accident and got major sideways whiplash. Because I did not take good care of it at the time. I now still have neck problems because of it.

DO NOT LET IT GO ANY LONGER OR YOU WILL BE A MESS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

Good Luck.

You cannot "dislocate" your cervical spine-- you can have impingement of the nerves which means instead of each cervical vertebra being perfectly aligned, they are now a little "off" angle and cause the nerves to be touched by the bone. I assume this is a car accident or some type of accident because this does not just happen with age-- I have impingement at c5-6. Just to let you know, the nerve blocks do not work, nor does the chiropractor- they just adjust your spine it feels good for maybe a day or two, and like a junkie you must go back and get it realigned. What you need to do is what I did, see a good orthopedic specialist who will send you for physical therapy-- around your spine are numerous muscle groups and these muscles get strained and probably, like in my case, damaged from whatever type of accident you had. Physical therapy will strengthen those muscles and along with a home traction unit-- it is a unit in which you have a weight that goes over the door and on the other side you sit with a mechanism around your chin which pulls up your spine and relieves the impingement-- it's like heaven- and you do it as many times a day as the doc tells you to. That along with the physical therapy and strengthening the muscles, along with learning to live with a certain degree of pain---oh, check into a cervical pillow- you need one and that will align your spine for the whole time you are sleeping---don't forget your neck is a "C" and sleeping on a flat pillow does not fill that arc and causes strain right where your injury is------get to a good orthopedic doctor and get these suggestions underway. He may also suggest a tems unit- which is electrical impulses to stimulate the muscle from spasm......good luck to you.......and by the way.......DO NOT LIFT ANYTHING or pull on anything until you get cleared by a orthopedic doc---and if you live in a small city, travel to the biggest town around to see a better doc at a teaching facility........

good luck to you

convinced, your leg and hip become checked...you spot your regularly occurring whinge become discomfort on those elements...and your MRI had shown a lumbar radiculopathy...it means that your nerves on your back are impinged. once you've nerve impingement the manifestation of which will be discomfort on the hip, thigh or maybe the leg. That explains why an MRI on the lumbar section become counseled.

I would get back to my MD ASAP if you continue to have symptoms like this.Avoid the popping and stay away from chiropractic adjustment, they cause more harm than good. There is no way you can safely adjust the cervical spine without causing serious injuries. You may be developing a bone spur or an inflammation is developing from the previous injury.Take care. The MRI should have shown a separation too if you had one, not just impingement. CHeck with your doctor.
