I was just thinking while watching the show why Peter just didn't fly up in the sky on his own since he could fly too. Then his brother would have still been alive.

I believe all along that the problem with Peter is his power control. He doesn't seem to have much control of his powers. Peter seems to only know how to use his powers one at a time. But not a few of them at the same time like Sylar can do. While Peter was being nuclear, he might not have the ability to use other powers. Perhaps that's why, he can't fly off himself. Or if Claire was to shoot him while he is using his nuclear power, he could have really died? I don't know. The ending of Nathan flying off with Peter is the expression of "Love" that the episode was to mean. I thought it was a perfect ending ;)

I totally agree with Terri. And would add that Peter can only do 'one' power at a time. There's no way he could have flown while his other ability was happening. Nathan surely would've had the sense to throw Peter as far into space as he could and fly back to Earth. Nathan is about my age so I KNOW he saw the same thing happen in 'Superman's 2 & 4!!! LOL!!! The season finale was excellent! Just excellent!

Peter could not fly because it took all his effort and concentration on NOT exploding and thus killing millions.

If he would have worked on flying he would have lost control and killed everyone there.

Nathan flew him up into the sky and then right before Peter exploded Nathan left him go and flew away fast.

They are both alive.

Peter CAN do more than one power at a time, we've seen him do it a few times already, while he was invisible.

Its just that he couldn't do it at that time because all his strength was needed to control the nuclear energy.

I'm thinking that maybe he did just that. Someone said here on YA that the guy playing Nathan has signed up for next year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I was thinking about that too. Maybe since he was out of control he wasn't able to control his other powers, or maybe he just panicked. It certainly gave Nathan a chance to redeem himself.
