Meaning, that our earth is bright because of the sun, but when you get outside our atmosphere, it's dark. Wouldn't space around earth still be bright because of the sun? wouldn't the sun keep space in our solar system bright?

It's still bright inside our atmosphere because there are bajillions and kazillions of molecules reflecting and refracting the sun's light. So some of the light that you see, even at high altitudes, is reflected and refracted to you from the air around you, and the ground.

When you get outside the atmosphere, there's no air to bounce light in your direction, so it gets dark.

If you look towards the sun, while you're in space, you'll see it very brightly, and it might blind you.

Brightness in the way that you are describing it is a description of reflectivity. in space there is nothing to relfect off of. it is a vaccuum. Although if you look at the deep space pictures that the hubble takes of those colorful galaxies and nebulas. That is real colour (most of the time) it's just that our eyes can't see that color from so far away. But it is there

The Earth is bright on its "daylight" part, which is illuminated by the Sun. In the atmosphere the sunlight is scattered by gas molecules, dust, moisture...etc.

It actually isn't. but you don't see any 'background' illumination like you see on Earth because there is no atmosphere for light to reflect and refract off of.

There is nothing there for the light to reflect off of.
