This has an AMD 850mhz processor, and 128 mb (100mhz) of RAM. This puppy is SLOW! I have Comcast internet, but it still needs a turbo charge. Would it be worth upgrading the RAM on this? I'm looking towards a new computer, but not in the budget until the fall. Please help! Also, don't want to spend too much money. Thx!

Most programs and software recommend you have at least 1GB of RAM. If you just want to check email, surf the net, then I would just hold off until you can afford a new pc. When you are able to purchase a new one, it should come equipped with every thing you might need. If you are a big gamer, or want to download videos or other large files, then go ahead and upgrade your RAM. I would hold off until the fall if it were me.

Increasing the RAM would make a huge difference. 128 is the minimum XP runs on. Anything over that makes big differences in speed. PC100 memory is cheap. You can easily upgrade to 256 (or even 512) for $25. Visit a "mom and pop" computer store and they will have it cheap.

For what little it will cost you, it will make a world of difference.
