I am so tired of hearing people bemoaning about how much certain corporate executives bring home, like it's somehow any of their business. Yet none of them ever seem to notice things like: Nicole Kidman makes $15-$20 million for a couple of months of work. Angelina Jolie makes $10-$15 million for a couple months of work. Brad Pitt , Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Eddie Murphy, Tom CruiseJohn Travolta Nicolas Cage, Julia Roberts Will Smith. They all earn $20 million or more just to star in a stupid movie.
Why no fuss about that?

@Melodoof: ROTFL!!! The salaries in capitalism aren't market drivenm, but entertainment salaries are? What color is the sky in your world?
@ All: Did you guys not get that I'm a capitalist? I think that we're all responsible for cutting our best deals!! I have no problem with any person who can manage to earn millions. And I certainly don't think the government sector should be the highest paid members of our society. The government should not be responsible for redistributing personal wealth! (Not even yours.)

Agreed! They complain they are not taxed enough, yet why instead not donate that money to the US Government or a charity of the choosing?
Why ***** about it when they can do something with it?
The fact of the issue is that they are "superior" to the average person. They need limos, private jets, enormous homes in multiply locations as they are "artists".
They repeat what some script say to say and somehow they are geopolitical experts on everything. This is why I never go see a movie anymore!

Well, I guess you don't realize actor's salaries are actually market-driven. When someone like Brad Pitt stars in a movie, he can command that type of salary because he has a proven track record of earnings in line with this salary. Consumers pay to see them perform. Once their names stop being a draw, they no longer earn the big bucks. Their payments are strictly ties to their financial performance.
This is not the same with huge CEO payouts. If you look at these huge payouts, they may be paid huge sums of money, while all the while the stock prices for their organizations is falling, or corporate profits are lagging.
The two are not the same, and if you were actually a person of intelligence, you would realize this rather quickly.

Liberals aren't complaining about Hollywood because the actors are mostly liberals.
(ex: Bono) Some people with money are using it to make the "world" better.
If the pharmacutical companies didn't charge an arm and a leg for medicines people who donated to foreign countries would be more willing to help here. It cost thousands to get a man off the streets in the USA it costs hundreds to feed a family for a year in Africa.

I agree - The CEO does an extremely complex job that helps employ sometimes thousands or more men and woman and effects the lives of even more.
The real complaint should be how little those who risk themselves every day make. Firemen, police officers, and our military men and woman - these are the real heros - (sorry, if I left anyone out, I would not want to offend anyone)

Good question. It's because the Democratic party gets a lot of money for campaigning from those celebrities. Most everyone in Hollywood is liberal in one way or another, so who wants to make the people with the money mad? All politicians are hypocrites anyway. : )

I want to know why there isnt a fuss about what the Military makes, I am a military wife and we live paycheck to paycheck as many military members do, we dont live outside our means, when will someone care about us, i mean geez we are the reason that people get ask questions and whine about who makes more than they do, just wanted to put that out there but i do agree with you they shouldnt make all that money

Because Angelina Jolie didn't make her millions by cheating workers out of pay or benefits. She didn't outsource thousands of jobs to India and move plants to Mexico. She isn't destroying the environment or endangering lives by cutting corners to increase her profit.
