You should know all about dumb.

It really seems that way sometimes. I have no issue with typos, everyone makes them and so what if people don't bother to spell check every posting. But what really bugs me is the pervading cluelessness as to homonyms. I expect a dimwitted thug to threaten me with "your dead" or some 5th grader making a sign for a vegetable stand that says tomato's, but to see, over and over again, ad nauseum, "there" when it should be "their" or "they're" is a really sad critique of our educational system, the effects of what passes for entertainment in dumbed-down TV broadcasts, and just plain laziness. I can rant about it all I want but I can't really change anything. If I actually could somehow dumb down, maybe it would be more enjoyable; after all, they say ignorance is bliss. On the other hand, I would say that ignorance is responsible for much of what's wrong with the world today.

No. not really. I am no dumber than usual. Although last night I was told I was too dumb to be level 7. I have been level 7 over a year now, so maybe I am getting dumber.

no I doubt you would have to dumb yourself down to enjoy this place. Unless you have an overwhelming desire to engage in intellectual discussion. in which case go over to the philosophy/sciences/some where that the nerds gather and match wits.

Check out different categories such as environment, politics, if you are looking for more intellectual stimulation. However, in each category you can find people whom you can relate to as long as you carry out the interaction in a classy and sophisticated manner. Do not sell yourself short, if that's what you feel you are doing.

Hope this helps.

Not really. I can usually rely on good Q&A most of time. It's easy enough to weed through the ijits. Having a little network of friends helps a lot. That way you can always count on something clever.

You may have a point. I was just cruising through the Cooking/Recipes section of YA. Someone wanted to know how to tell if water was boiling. Yep, they're alive and well and out there.
