Baby will let you know when it's time for more solids. It may be a couple weeks, or it may be several months. She'll make herself very clear. My kids pointed to the cabinet, stove, high chair and anything that looked like food packaging when they wanted more solids. Also, when sitting down for meals, give your baby some of your food. She'll either play with it long enough for you to eat something or she'll eat it. I would lose the jars in favor of mashed food from the family meal. That way your daughter will become accustomed to the flavors your family likes.

This is one of those questions that will reap you heaps of different opinions and answers. Remember the following and you won't go wrong.....
Each child is their own person with their own wants and needs, likes and dislikes. Give your baby what she wants, just make sure she takes the bottle first before each feeding to make sure she gets all her nutrients. Don't worry about her eating just veggies right now, there is a whole lifetime ahead of her to enjoy fruits and meats. There is nothing wrong with giving her veggies at breakfast or cereal at supper. Diversity makes the world turn, hun. You know you baby best so do what you feel is best for your baby.

I would stick to fruits & veggies for a while before trying meats. I would agree with your friend. I gave my son cereal in the morning, fruit for lunch, & veggies for dinner. Of coursse formula & later juice in between. If your daughter does not want to eat that much right now you could try skipping the lunch feeding & just trade up the fruits & veggies at dinner.

It's just play time for food. Twice a day is fine. You would likely increase it to 3 times at 7 months or there abouts. She should be getting most of her food from her formula.

That's a lot of food. The baby foods should be a suppliment for the formula for the first year and not act as a primary replacement. You should check with your pediatrician as I think your friend has you going overboard.

Twice a day is fine. My doctor told me three times a day just like a breaskfast, lunch and dinner, which is what i do.

I wouldn't be worried, if you started her on veggies first, that's bound to be what she likes more, cause she's used to it... my friend's son (who's 7 months) does the same thing!
