Im a Die Hard Raider fan and I like Al Davis, 20 years ago. His ways are boring. I cant waite for the day they actually try a flee flicker, reverse, receiver pass with Ronald Curry( ex QB) or even a fake punt. I know how to take a losing season, but come on we're playing conservative football with 4 wins at the end of the season, what? 3rd and 15 and we run it. Last year exploited how the game has evolved and Al Davis hasnt. Bringing in Art Shell and letting him choose Tom Walsh as offensive coordinator, who mind u was out of football for 20 years running a bed and breakfast. Well i hope Lane Kiffin can pull this team back to greatness but Al has to let him do his thing. We'll be back mark my words. #1 D in 07

Yes, Al is one reason for the downfall. But, not completely, his staff has made some bad personnel moves and player acquisition has been aweful. The one main thing that Al has done is not be flexible in his offensive approach, and he has hired weak coaches. Guys like Madden, Flores, and even Gruden, where able to stand thier ground and do what was needed to win, meanwhile Al wanted to go deep on everyplay. Truth is, that Davis hated Maddens running game and wanted Flores to pass more.

No we will not. (I say WE because I bleed Black and Silver) The Raiders will not do anyting as a team until Al Davis gives up power. he is basically ruling as Emperor of the Raiders and won't give anyone else a shot at making a decision until he either passes away or decides to sell a majority stake in the team. Until that time we will continue to set records for losses and become a place that no one wants to play/coach at. I mean we dont even have a GM. All matters of importance go through a man that has been successful in decades past but cannot accept the ways of change that all sports go through. That downfall alone is reasons for termination. If he was an employee with the track record he has now and someone was above him he would have been fired about 5 year ago. It would be a totally different team.

Yes, Al has killed the Raider tradition. Any owner who underminds his coaching staff by showing up to practices and coaching individual players is showing the lack of communication it takes to keep everyone on the same page.......

your teams problem is personnel. Not so much talent wise(although that is a problem right now), but heart wise. They have a tendency to acquire overrated names and trouble makers, so they lack chemistry.

I think the game is passing him by...He is getting older...maybe getting Alzheimers...not trying to joke about a serious condition, but it makes you wonder...
