You can find past family crests at:
http://www.houseofnames.com
http://www.fleurdelis.com

Bear in mind that if you are also looking for coats of arms, you can find past examples;if you want to use one for personal purposes in the present time, you have to design your own.Fleur de Lis does a good job of explaining the history and meanings of coats of arms and crests.

I really would not know. From the little that I have been able to piece together, I have been able to trace my family back to about 1602.Not a Royal among them, but a lot of bandits and thieves.I guess our family crest would have "the Hangman's noose" in it someplace.

If you don't know about it, then you probably don't have one. A lot of companies will sell you products that have "your family crest" on them, but unless the company has done research into your ancestry, it has no validity.
