I am 36wks pregnant with my first child. I haven't changed my diet in any way nor am I sick. This might be a little gross but I woke up this morning with very loose bowel movements which could even be diarrhea and last night before bed was very uncomfortable and had some nausea. Could this be a sign that labor is soon to follow within days?

Well, I had diarrhea for about a day before my water broke, first kid. However, I never got nauseated until the pains really kicked in during labor-- so this could be a sign-- or you might have food poisoning!!
Bottom line-- talk to the OB/midwife with specifics. They know your case better than anybody online, and might want to have you come in for a quick dilation check! Good luck!

Yes it could be a sign! I gave birth at 36 weeks. I didn't have diarrhea, but I did have nausea. I also had back pain, couldn't sleep & passed blood clots in the toilet which was pretty gross (and scary!)

absolutly. IF you get any back pain, you are in labor. Ive had loose stools for about 3 days now, and had nausea lastnight, and just a mild backache. finally went into labor and delivery to get it all checked out, i was having contractions 2-3 mins apart, and 100% effaced and didnt even know it!!

Some people do experience nausea, vomiting and diarrhea before labor occurs. Be careful and look for other symptoms.

No, loose bowels are not an indicator of labor. If you get them, it is coincidental. It can be caused by a variety of things, including having more orange juice than you normally do.

Hmmm...not sure. The baby may have shifted and is pressing on something that is causing these symptoms. If it continues or gets worse, you should call your doctor.

Sounds like you are getting close.
Pack your bag and leave it where your hubby can find it.
Make sure you have your address book and extra socks...just trust me on this one.

Good luck and congrats!!!!

Could be. Could also be something you ate that upset your system. One way or another, your almost there!

No. It was probably something you ate - symptoms are not from labor. . . Feel Better. & Congratulations.
