Why is it OK for Rush Limbaugh to call Barack Obama the "N" word, when Don Amos was fired for simply describing some basketball players as "nappy"? I think this is another example of the conservative-controlled media that has a double standard. Conservatives can get away with anything, while the more mainstream journalists are oppressed.

rush can do no wrong. hes a pill popping, hate spewing freak, who has no sympathy for anyone. i thought he should have been punished for what he said and did to Michael J Fox. but its OK for a con to make fun of Parkinson's disease, and to get uber scripts for pain meds, but if someone who isn't so Conservative, says something about nappy headed hoes, while complimenting them, they get fired.
my only solace is that Rush Limbaugh will burn in the deepest circles of hell.

Rush Limbaugh is an idiot. Didn't he say a few years back that anyone who is addicted to pain pills should be locked up but he did the same thing. He also said Michael J Fox was acting when he appeared before Congress about speaking about Parkinson's disease. People like Limbaugh, Anne Coulter and Rosie are hypocrits and should be placed under a rock and out of the media mainstream

Your an idiot. First go check the facts before bringing your weak questions/statements. As most people here have said who are informed about the subject that Rush was quoting the LA times column that was questioning if Obama was black enough. I don't hear any liberal media getting on the LA times about being racist. You know for sure if Rush did use the "N" word that there would be outrage all over the liberal media which by the way they control (MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN etc.).

Come back after you study up a bit and get your facts straight.

You really don't have ANY of the facts correct, do you.

For instance, the "N" word that Limbaugh used was "*****." Since when it is that a horrible word? He certainly didn't call him the other "N" word, if that is what you are implying. And it was done in the way of a parody song highlighting that a BLACK journalist first called Obama "The Magic *****" because of how everyone...white and black like him...so it was obviously not meant as an insult.

BTW, it's Don Imus...not Amos... and he shouldn't have been fired either...AND it was pressure from Liberals like Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson who got him fired.

It was ***** not the other n word. Is that a bad word? Anyway, please stop calling for the firing of radio talk show hosts of any affiliation. Rush and all those others cons were disturbed by the firing of Imus because its a slippery slope. so, be careful with your rights and don't give them away becasue there will be plenty of people trying to take them from you. I'm real pround of you and your devotion and utter compliance to political correctness but stop trying to shut people down. Racial slurs would be intolerable but what qualifies nowadays? Who's the mediator of what's appropriate and what's not. I'm just saying, its a slippery slope. Just enter the dialogue and be at peace that we can all say what we believe for now. And keep in mind, this is talk radio we're talking about. It would be interesting to see what percentage of the population tunes in to talk radio as opposed to television media. I imagine its a much smaller portion of the population that tunes into talk radio so this idea of media oppression by the right is nonsense. I am a democrat but I am really bored of all this liberal whining. I am also sick of these liberals who claim to be so tolerant while being so utterly intolerant. Anyway, sorry, i am ranting more to the public than you. Thanks.

Wow, the conservatives control the media? Damn last time I heard the left was controlling it. Another perfect example of a liberal here folks. BTW, it WAS the LA Times who said that, he just QUOTED from what was printed you ignorant, blind fool. Yea, the conservatives get away with a lot of crap. Well how about the crap the NY Times and all the other liberal media spews out everyday. Why don't they take responsibility for your actions and stop playing the blame game on everyone else. This is why libs always have messed up children, like Ted Kennedy's alcoholic son.

You need to recheck your "facts." He did not call your main man anything like that. Anyway, regarding the "N" word. Do we not have freedom of speech? Or is that just for liberals. My job with a tobacco company puts me in contact any number of times a day with lots of blacks in very poor areas. I'm called "cracker," "whitey," "white boy," "honkie," and worse on a daily basis. I refrain from expressing myself by using the "N" word only because my employer would fire me in a heart beat. And you want to talk about a double standard? Conservative controlled media? CNN? ABC? CBS? NBC? MSNBC? Even Fox News. Really? I didn't realize they were controlled by conservatives.

Comments by HBO personality Bill Maher that suggested more people would continue living if Vice President Dick Cheney were to die are not worth responding to, according to a spokeswoman for the White House.

Spokeswoman Dana Perino was responding to a question from Les Kinsolving, WND's correspondent at the White House. He asked:

"An HBO TV personality named Bill Maher said on the air, the Vice President, 'I'm just saying, if he did die, other people, more people would live. That is a fact.' End of quote. Question: Since this is the same person whom ABC fired five years ago for commending the terrorists responsible for 9/11, surely the White House has some concern about Maher's reference to the desirability of the Vice President's death, don't you?"
--Television personality Bill Maher, host of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher," says Christians and others who are religious suffer from a neurological disorder that "stops people from thinking."--

Maher's comments began with a verbal assault on Jerry Falwell three days after the Baptist minister's death May 15 then "escalated into a vicious attack on Christianity in general and Roman Catholicism in particular," MRC says.
Maher said, "'We weren't having sex, officer, I was performing a very private Mass, here in my car. I was letting my rod and staff comfort him. Take this and eat of it, for this is my roommate Barry. … And for all those who believe there is a special place for you in Kevin."

Conservative hold on the media....ROFLMMFAO!!!

Well, we do have laws pertaining to the "mentally impaired." Certainly Limbaugh along with being "higher than a Kite" most of the time, would have to fall under this. Oh sorry, he has a "medical" condition that requires all those MEDS. Limbaugh followers are considered complete Morons, and have as much creditability as Rush, therefore who would take anything he says seriously, except for the "Simple Simon" mind like set??

I doubt Rusty Limpbra used such a word. If he had you can be assured it would be all over for him. Don Imus found out the hard way. Imus got what he deserved. Limbaudh is always right there on the edge but manages never to cross over and thus keeps the hate that he spews more laughable and pathetic than anything someone should take seriously.

Because the whole song was composed by statements made by liberals. The song was originated by a editorial in the LA Times by a writer named Aronstein and it asked if Obama was Black enough. There is no double standard except yours.
