Well number 1 is it obvious to people that you are from other decents? My mother is white and we have like 2% Sioux Indian in our blood and she tans extremely well and I am practically an albino!!
Some people tan well and are completely 100% caucasian, Some people are naturaly darker pigmented and are 100% caucasian.
So if you are just darker pigmented then you cannot blame people!! If you were 100% caucasian and looked like you do and people assumed you had part Indian and Spanish in you, you would probably be affended.

If you look white & act like it thats what you get. Do you live indian? Since Cherokee has lost their traditional ways how would they know you are ndn? Do you continually speak spanish? I don't think you do by the question. There are people that are tan on the outside but "white" on the inside. Which means they are like the "beaver cleaver family" They are the nationality they want when its convient

First I would like to help clarify something for you: "Spanish" is an ethnicity, not a race in and of itself. So even if you were 100% Spanish you could considered Caucasian or *******. Your ethnicity has some Spanish combined with other ethnicity's (not all whites have the same culture) :)
My grandmother was full blooded Cherokee Indian and my grandfather was full blooded Irish (father's side). Mother's side Italian and Irish. Technically, I am 1/4 Cherokee Indian (race: Mongoloid), and 3/4 Caucasian. Tribal affiliation has to be intact in order to claim Indian as your race on government forms, etc.
People probably assume you are white ,because, maybe you are.
That's great that your great grandfather is Cherokee. In your original post, you only indicated "part". That would make you 1/8 Indian and 7/8 Caucasion. I have got to be honest, I have heard countless people state that they are "part" Indian and there is such a minute quantity or none at all that I certainly would not count them as Indian.
I am not sure what you mean by "you have a reservation". Do you mean to say that you have a reservation in which you are currently living on? The Cherokee people only have two official reservations--one in Oklahoma and one in North Carolina. I don't think you understood what I meant by tribal affiliation. I certainly did not mean to offend you by mentioning that. Certainly if your great grandfather was Cherokeee, he would have been listed on the rolls. Have a great day. As far as people "guessing" what race I'm from, inevitably people always ask me if I'm Indian. I tell them that I am part but I also have so much Irish in me as well as other Cacasion ethnicities and that I am proud of them all. So what, the Indian shows strongly in me. I am proud of that but no less proud of the rest because it is the sum of the parts that make the whole. Bottom line--be proud of who you are and don't worry about what others think you are.

You probably have predominantly white features. Depending on what you mean by spanish, the country of Spain has predominantly light skinned descendants and Cherokee is the lightest skinned native american faction. My wife is native american, white and hispanic and she is light skinned. My father in law is half mexican and half native american(Pomo and Wailaki, both very dark skinned). I don't mean to offend, but anyone can say they're part cherokee cuz they are so light skinned.

You are who are, but if I see someone who looks a certain way, I will assume that they are what they look like. I will be wrong. Don't feel bad. People think my sandy-haired, blue-grey eyed cousin is either hispanic or mixed. She is only 7 and always sets them straight. Many people think I am African, but I was born in Cleveland. My family hasn't been from Africa for a very long time.

Well aren't you? And why do YOU care? You know who you are so what other people want to assume you are is irrelevant. If you appear to be white and it is assumed that you are, you can't really deny that. You are! If you want to explain to some people the rest of your heritage that's fine. But don't worry about what anyone says or thinks about you. It doesn't really matter!

I guess you must look more of a white person than you think. What is the big deal anyway?we are all people, are we not?It sounds like that makes you angry,it really should not.Try being an Arab, such as myself, and have people assume that you are a terrorist, now that hurts.

How will they know that you are "part Spanish part Cherokee Indian and part Caucasian" unless you tell them?
It sounds like you are being hard on other people for no reason.
What a typical GIRL (not "woman", mind you, but girl). You expect other people to read your mind and automatically know everything about you that YOU consider to be important without you having to tell them. Honestly, dear, you need to grow up. People make honest mistakes. Cut them some slack.

Ha! Don't get me started. I am black, Irish, American Indian and Caribbean. People always think I am Hispanic because my skin is light brown and I have black wavy hair. I have no Spanish blood and I don't speak Spanish. People make assumptions about us based on their visual view of us. It is maddening but it happens to me all the time.
