You would lay felt across the rafters and then latt it. You have two thicknesses of latts depending on the rafters being 400mm or 600mm apart. These are nailed down with clout nails (galvanished nails). You then need to find tiles suitable for the pitch of the roof and use soft aluminumum nails for those. Ridge tiles are cemented down.

Roof Tiles, hip tiles, Felt, Battens, Felt nails, Nails for the tiles, lead flashing, cement mortar etc etc

If the building is more than a single storey high, you will need scaffolding. Tiles are heavy, and you do not want to be climbing a 30ft ladder carrying tiles.

This is a major job. Do not underestimate it. There are also various building regulations you will need to conform to.

you need to make sure all timber work is solid and dry rot free. You can treat it easily by spraying. You need to get breathable felt and tanalised battens.A couple of tiles with vents also helps. You also need venting on the fascia. You can work out the exact quantities by measuring width and length. Also ask in a good roofing suppliers..Cheers and good luck
