I certainly hope not. There is no excuse for an adult with a family to still be making minimum wage. Everyone with a job probably started out at minimum wage but as time passed you got raises. If you didn't get a raise you probably went to another company were you could earn more money. One may lose their job and in turn have to start at minimum wage but its only up from there. The majority of people who have made minimum wage there whole lives have a long list of poor decisions behind them that led to their current situation. Those people need to get the most government assistance available to them, hold on to their job until it pays more and they can get out of the welfare system.

Actually, a large portion of the states have already passed minimum wage laws which guarantee higher wages than what the federal government does, and in some cases, more than what the dems want the fed rate raised to.
