well, at size 11, they are big enough...with webbing, I could actually swim, for the first time in my life...yes, very cool.

I grew up with a girl who was born premature and actually had webbed feet. Her hands were also webbed at birth, but they surgically fixed that so she could have separate use of her fingers. With a lack of quality medical insurance, she could not get surgery to make her feet look normal because there was no "medical reason" for it. Unlike her hands, having webbed feet did not disable her, so it wasn't medically necessary. Now she is 37 years old and still has webbed feet.
How cool was it for her growing up? Well, she rarely got to wear sandals because when she did she was severely teased. People were cruel to her until we went on a choir trip to the beach at age 15. After I convinced her, she finally agreed to take off her shoes and go swimming. I told her no one could see her feet if she got into the water. Well, we got into a swimming contest and she outswam all of us. Just ahead of us, we saw a mother cat on some rocks. She was meowing in desparation. We looked further and saw a kitten by itself on another rock that was too far from the mother cat. My friend swam to save the kitten and returned it to its mother without hesitiation. Everyone thought it was so cool that her paddle-like feet helped save the kitten's life. Thanks to my convincing her to take off her shoes and swim, she finally got accepted instead of judged.
