It's definitely not just rappers who think that.

I come from a family of hippies, and we all look down on "snitching" - turning your friends in. Any group of people involved in illicit and/or illegal activity feel strongly about being ratted out.

I don't agree with it at all. Granted, I've never lived in an enviornment where that is an issue, but there is a neighborhood in my city where it's getting out of control.
I'm not a huge fan of cops, but seriously...if something awful happened to my FAMILY or my friends and someone knows something, I would want them to tell what they know. Not only would they help keep the next potential victim safe, but it would keep some riffraff off the street.

Snitchin is cooperating with the police in order to have a crime, minor or major, solved. Since most black people do not trust the police it is not good to cooperate with them in the "hood". . .
I think that's dumb. I'm not a lover of the cops, but if some crime is commited I'd tell the truth.

Snitching is when one CRIMINAL gets caught and tells on another for a reduced sentence. Do you agree with the mafia or white supremacists code of silence? Why zero in on hip hop?

First of all let me correct some of you here. No you would not snitch if you lived in the hood because you would get your house burned down, beat up or shot so that's not being realistic.

If someone did something horrible and you knew about it , wouldn't guilt get you ? I'm ashamed of any popular artist who wouldn't speak up .
It just goes to show that you you can take a man out of the ghetto , but can't take the ghetto out of the man

lots of crime happens DUE TO snitching.
someone snitches, someone gets revenge...then someone retaliates...it is a domino effect

i agree with it because of the being a tattle tale part
but i also disagree with being a criminal

and why are you limiting this to hip hop rappers?

what do you think witness protection is for? snitches who are afraid that the ppl they snitched on will hurt them. don't limit it to hip hop because that is one sided and bs

Yea, they sell that noise to poor inner city kids who glorify them while they laugh driving their Masaratis to the bank to deposit the profits made from selling that crap.
