OK A =1, B = 3, C = 2, D = 4. The follicle has to grow before bursting, it bursts to release the egg, Corpus Luteum produces hormones, extra endometrium there for implantation. No fertilization, no implantation. Thus the Endometrium shed which causes menstruation.

During menstruation the endometrium is shed, that's what is being let out during a period. To get to that point, first the endometrium needs to get built up and the follicle needs to prepare and grow. After this growth, an egg bursts out from the follicle (this is called ovulation). After the egg is released, the follicle is now called the "corpus luteum." Hence why this phase is called the luteal phase. During this time the corpus luteum secretes hormones that will help implantation of the egg if it is fertilized and will help to maintain pregnancy. However, it can only maintain this hormone secretion for about two weeks, after which the fertilized egg will take over using its own products. If there is no fertilized egg to take over then there is no hormone to maintain the endometrial lining and it is again shed.
