I don't believe it will cover you outside of state. Usually if you have medicaid it only covers with in your state. insurance such as blue cross, may have out side of state coverage but also at a different coverage rate and your co-pay would be higher. this also depends on the type of coverage your insurance offers the best way to confirm coverage s to call the number on your card and ask your self. if all else fails for the out of state abortion coverage you are searching for you can also look up planned parent hood.org and under locate a near center you may find one in the state you want and you may call to ask them what kind of coverage they take for the procedure. good luck

It may be if abortion services aren't available nearby. Call your Medicaid office and find out. They may have preferred providers. Alternatively, contact the abortion provider and ask if they are able to accept Medicaid from your state. They certainly would know!
For instance, if you live in South Dakota near Minnesota, you don't have a choice. Minneapolis is the closest location for you to go since the only provider is on the other side of the state. However, I don't know if Medicaid covers or not.
Below is a listing of states as to who covers it in the first place, whether in state or not.

Usually medicaid only covers you in the state that you live in. You would have to call them to be sure. A word of advice, really think about it before you do it. Don't be like some girls that get it done and 4 months later they are posting questions on here like "can I have a baby after an abortion?"

Probably not. In fact, medicaid denies federal coverage except in cases of rape, incest, and life of the mother. Some states get around that by making other state funds available for abortions--so if your state denies abortion coverage, the chances of another state giving you funding for an abortion is not likely. Please see the link below to look up the rules for your state. You are still probably going to have to call a program administrator for full clarification.

ask them where you are gonna have it done it, if they accept the medicaid from the state you have. I do know that some states will accept the neighboring state medicaid cards, but the only way to know is to call the place that you are gonna have the abortion in

No, Medicaid will probably not cover it. This is not because of what state you're going to be in, because medicaid will cover you if you have to be hospitalized or seek care in a state besides your own. It is because medicaid only covers abortions in the case of rape, incest, or endangerment of your life. If you fall into this category, good luck to you, and it will be covered. If you do not, talk to planned parenthood or pay for your own abortion, whichever state you're in.

Medicaid does not always cover the cost of an abortion. You will have to check with the clinic you are going to.

I dont see why it should't be accepted. I mean you are allowed to leave the state right? and when you do...what if you went on vacation and got sick and needed to see a dr.? Dont you think the insurance would be accepted???
by the way you are going to get a lot of crap for saying you want an abortion on here

Planned parenhood is like $400 bucks usually within the first 12 weeks.
I didn't think tax payers money funded abortions except under rare circumstances...? Then again we send tweekers and crack heads a check every month... (How rude of me)!

I have to ask why you want to have an abortion in another state. If you're crossing state lines trying to avoid a parental notification law in your home state, you are breaking the law and you CAN be charged, as can the person who transports you. Seek alternatives!
