I hope you're exaggerating and/or in a *hot* *dry* climate, because 5 gallons is a bit excessive... if you're really drinking that much it's probably a good idea to go see a doctor, because it could be gestational diabetes or something else.

Otherwise, everything seems fine to me... heartburn is more common later in pregnancy, especially the third trimester, but I suppose that for some women it could start sooner. I slept about 13+ hours a day the first few months of my pregnancy and was exhausted throughout the time I was awake. I got a blood test and I didn't have anemia, but I'd still recommend you get one just to make sure you don't, because it's common among pregnant women and will make you feel more exhausted. Usually it isn't a risk for the baby though.

Congratulations!

Tired, absolutely! Your body is working overtime to make a new human, so your energy will be tapped out until a few weeks into the second trimester.

Drinking lots, not really. If could be that you're exposed to a dry house, or live in a dry climate and therefore need more water -- you do increase your water intake to help build the amniotic fluid sac. However, extreme thirst is something you should take up with your doctor, because it is a symptom of gestational diabetes as well as a UTI. It's a little early for both but anything is possible in pregnancy!

Nausea and diarrhea are indeed common signs of pregnancy. Not every woman gets them, but most do. Sorry!

Please be sure to make an appointment as soon as possible. While some doctors still abide by the "We'll see you in three months!" rule, many now want to see their pregnant patients as close to the beginning of pregnancy as possible to start them on pre-natal vitamins (VERY important during pregnancy), let the patient ask questions, and see if there is anything to watch out for down the road.

Exhausted was a better word to describe it for me. I remember the weekends. I'd sleep practically 24/7, literally probably slept 1 hour out of every 3 hours of the day then sleep 10 to 12 hrs. at night. Thirsty?-not me. I didn't have an upset stomach but I instantly was constipated. My morning sickness was mild and didn't really kick in till week 10 to about week 12 or 13.

Congrats!

For how far along you are, just count the number of weeks since the first day of your last period.

Fatigue and upset tummy? Totally normal...you may need granny to start taking care of you :)

take prenatals, drink water, eat healthy, smaller meals might be easier on ur stomach, I am also tired so I try to go to bed earlier.

You can do a google search and look up anything about pregnancy, I did, congrats.

yes, it's totally normal to be exhausted. i think i slept thru my first trimester... the first thing you should do, if you can't get to the doctor right away, is start taking prenatal vitamins. you can get them at any drug or grocery store... adn obviously don't smoke, drink, etc... congratulations!
