Day before yesterday it started fine. Tried jumping it, would not turn over. Acts like something is locked. Radio works, dash lights work, dinger works to tell me I am not buckled up. What could be wrong? What should I do? Thanks

Your starter may be stuck. If this is the case. Try tapping on it with a hammer while someone turns the key as if to start it. Also Check your fuses, and your battery cables. A loose battery cable could cause the lights to work, But when you try to start it you just hear a clicking noise. Worst case senario It could be Hydro locked.Take a breaker bar or large 1/2 inch drive ratchet and socket. Put the socket on the crank shaft pulley bolt and try to turn the car over by hand. If nothing will move, or if feels like it's locked. Remove the spark plugs and try to turn it over by hand then. If it turns over look at the spark plug holes and see if fluid is coming out. Possible gas, or coolant. If that is the case your fuel injector in the cylinder is bad. Replace it. If anti freeze comes out you have a bad intake manifold gasket, Or possible bad head gasket...

First off I would check the battery terminals for corrosion. If they are clean and secure to battery, then I would think it's the starter. Seems weird for it to go out that fast, but I work at a dealership and we see some weird problems. It could be something else, but without the car present, not much diag can be performed unless you are familiar with the particular car.

If I were you, and it's still under warranty, take it to the dealership and have them deal with the headache, they'll be able to tell you exactly what caused the problem and what it took to repair it.

Hope this helps.

Could be a bad starter, or a bad starter connection. Could be catastophic engine damage and it's seized. Could be the ignition switch (the thing the key goes into) is broke. Then it could be something simple like the brake fluid is low and the car prevents startup. Could be a bunch of things. You'll need to provide more information. Does it click, where is the click, what does the click sound like ect. Everything you notice, report on.
