there are a few reasons why
1. 1996 World Series. the yankees defeated the braves when the braves were the undefeatable team of the 90s. no one expected them to win the W.S.
2. everyone hates the yankees. ive never met some one who isnt a primary yankee fan that says "yea i like the yanks"
3. 2000 World Series. the mets beat the braves in the NLCS on robin ventura's walk-off grand slam, and then the mets got destroyed by the yanks in the W.S. the braves had the NLCS won but blew it, and feel that if they were in the series against the yanks they would have won

Maybe because the Yankees stole the 1996 World Series from the Braves (Although how can you lose a series after winning the first 2 road games? Losing 3 straight at home is a total choke-job). Then the Yankees DESTROYED the Braves (a 103 win team) in the 1999 series with a sweep. The Yankees won the last 3 games ever in Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium with those 3 1996 WS wins, by the way.
The Yankees stole the "Team of the '90s" title away from the Braves. They also showed how the Braves run of division titles was somewhat hollow. Seriously, how did a team with Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz lose so many short series?
Trading their players? Look at the Braves over the last 15 years. They've traded plenty of players also. The Yankees (and the Braves, for the most part) have not traded their core players, however. That's just modern baseball. With free agency and the players' salaries, you have to have a somewhat fluid roster.

Braves fans hate the Yankees for a few reasons. First, c'mon, they're the Yankees from the North and Atlanta won't ever forget the whole Civil War thing.
Second, the Braves gave the Yankees the World Series title a few years ago when the Braves should have won.
Third, there's always a battle of overall supremacy in baseball. The Braves of the National League are always competitive and win frequently and go to the playoffs frequently. The Yankees do the same in the American League.

The Yankees and Braves play in two different leagues and it really shouldn't matter to the Braves nor their fans what the Yankees do with their players. This is ridiculous!
If Braves fans don't like the Yankees it should be out frustration of losing two world series to them period.

So because your friend "hayes" the Yankees, that means all Braves fans hate them as well? Come on. I don't think there is a particular bias just from Braves fans. It's a universal hatred of the idea behind the Yankees. Spend a goddamn ridiculous amount of money on the "best" players and see what happens. Just because you get the best does not mean the results are going to be great. I mean, team chemistry plays a huge part into baseball and they just have not had it in recent years I think.

Every team trades players and I don't believe Braves fans hate the Yankees more than fans of any other team.

How about they beat the Braves in the World Series a couple times in recent memory.
I think Braves fans are a little jealous of the fact that the Yankees have been more successful in the postseason despite similar regular season success in the last 20 years.

It's not just the Braves fans - everybody hates the Yankees except Yankees fans and usually Yankee haters are pretty vocal about it; the fact that they're the fan of another team is just a footnote.

Not so sure it is just the Braves fans that do not like the Yankees, from my point of view people are going to pull for the underdog and that is not the high priced Yankees, when teams are that successful I have a tendency not to pull for them.We want them to fall of their pedestal,so try rooting for those lovable Cubs and when they finally rise to the top you will feel good.
