I read an article in a local paper about an inventor in Wi that is working on an electric vehicle powered by bumps in the road or suspension travel---I imagine it's a system that uses the up and down motion of the shocks to energize a magnetic field and generate electricty to charge the batteries. Sounds simple and is simliar to regenerative braking in that the energy used to stop a car is put back in to moving the car. Article is here:

Since America is the land of inventors, I was wondering if there's anyone else looking into available ways to power a car other than hybrid, diesel, hydrogen, photovoltaic, etc...how creative are people getting with the price of gas now.

Yes indeed. I have developed a self recharging system for an EV that essentially could extend the range of a typical EV to thousands of miles between charges. Now trying to purchase a test mule to put the system in... trying to to get a Tesla but they will take a year to deliver. Perhaps a Toyota if one can be found might provide the right test mule for us to prove it our in public. Thus far, on a bench, we get literally thousands of miles between charges... what is yet to be determined is how our systme will impact battery life over the long haul. I anyone knows of a good used EV for sale, I would liek to hear about it.

There have already been tons of people that have figured out how to run cars on things like garbage and water and things that could save the world, but the oil and gasoline companies immediatly offer them like 500 million dollars for there idea, so no one ever hears about it. Those gasoline companies don't want something coming around that will put them out of business, so they buy the rights to all these ideas, and don't use them, so people will keep using gas. Until one of these kids chooses not to sell out their idea for millions of dollars, I'd say we're screwed. Or else, let things get so bad, to where everyone on earth has no gas to use and then resort to something else.
