Foot kicks are normally stronger, although, you never can be sure. Good Luck with your baby!

I always assumed it was the foot or the hand by the force of the BLOW haha (I'm having a boy and I think he will be a martial arts master by the time he is born)

I've always felt faint "pushes" down low... and I've had the hard, fast BLOWS and PRESSES up towards the top and side of my belly

I'm 32 weeks now and I'm convinced he likes to punch my bladder for fun to see me run to the bathroom and he likes to kick my ribs as if they are toys! I've even had some random punches where I could have sworn if I pulled my pants off I could have seen his hand coming out of my you-know-what!

I joke around and tell people he is going to mess around and evict himself if he keeps playing so rough! But the poor thing is cramped in there!!

Around your 3rd trimester they tend to "stretch" more than they "kick and punch" when they do that they will move slowly and press outwards.. you can usually feel the whole limb or the actual foot... I havent been able to get a hand though!!

depending on how big your baby is... you usually can't tell. i can only tell i'm getting kicked instead of punched from the force behind it =P also, if he pushes his whole limb against my side i can tell from the length of it. not much else though >_< but then it doesn't matter if it's a hand or foot as long as he's still moving =)

Only once was I able to tell what was poking me. It was pushing out at my side and by feel, shaped just like a little foot. When I rubbed it she jerked it back. My baby's got very ticklish feet.

push it a bit - a foot feels more rectangular, hands seem to swish around a lot more.

We could see the legs kicking around when I lay in the bath, the babies loved the warm water

How far along are you? If i feel my stomach I can feel my baby's back and bottom, then I know if its a kick or a punch depending on where he is laying. I am 23 weeks.

Usually you can tell because the foot presses harder.

I knew because I knew he was head down, and butt up, so I knew where his feet were. I saw his elbows on the ultrasound and figured it out from there.
