Fold a piece of paper in half and you have 2 thicknesses.
Fold it in half again, and you have 4.
Fold it in half again, and you have 8.
Fold it in half again, and you have 16.
Then, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048.....

If you take the area of the paper as your quantitiy and if you keep folding the paper in half then:

Area= (original area)*2^(-(number of folds))

This is exponential decay.
