AFAIK convicted felons can't get passports, can they? As well there are pherhaps felony free players in the NFL who might be considered undesirable aliens by other countries because they are known to be involved in say....dog fights, illicit drugs or illeagal firearms? So do they leave the bad boys at home and make do without for a regular season game, or does the NFL legal get busy trying to get exceptions for these guys?

They can grant special passports if the travel is work related. More than likely that is what will happen. If anyone goes over there showing their butt the the whole team should not be allowed to come back.

I am a HUGE colts fan and other than the colts/patriots games the best are the Ravens/steelers games the Ravens/Steelers games are INTENSE and 3 hours of hard hitting fun This is physical football at its best. The defenses fly around smacking everything, but the offenses also have enough tough personalities to stand up and fight for every extra yard. Two players who come to mind immediately are Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward They are in the same division and it is so intense players put bounties on other players. The teams met 3 times last year. They have to be good to do that. Plus there is nothing better than smash mouth football.

I don't know the rules for getting passports, as I've never had one, but I'd imagine if a player was unable to obtain one, he wouldn't be able to play in the game. The team would probably throw a fit and there'd be a huge fuss over playing games where some players couldn't play, but those are the breaks.

Tank Johnson nearly wasn't allowed to go to the Super Bowl this year due to weapons charges, the judge decided he could leave the State just before the game.

Interesting question.....Is this why the NFL is trying to clean up it's act?
I wonder if they will come up with a single game relief to allow teams to replace players on the roster for 1 game if they can't leave the country to play.

They shouldn't be leaving the states for this anyway... It's all about $$ until some terrorist decides to shoot down the plane carrying a whole team.
