I think you better read up on a bit of history before asking such a silly question.
Britain did go to India and Africa, it took its religion, its people, its food, built English building.
They also introduced Christianity to those who already had religions. Thy flew their flag, raped the women, raped the land and when there was no more to take they gave the countries back to the people.
By this stage the land had no more to give the people. Now those people are here and you say they have no right to complain. As these countries were then colonies the people from there had every right to come here.
I am neither African or Indian but luckily my country at least teaches the wrongs of Britain. Shame yours doesn't!!

I have to agree with you - although I agree with a few of the answers so far especially the fact that we, the British, have tried to instil our own beliefs and traditions throughout the world!
Having said that I find the most arrogant are the people coming in from Eastern Europe. I can see a big problem developing because of the influx. Our European friends from the east tend to be rude - I have been jostled out of supermarket checkout queues by them. They are beginning to behave in such a manner as though they have a God-given right to be here and scrounge from naturalized citizens who have paid their way through National Insurance contributions and taxation.
I am not rascist and I really blame the Government for allowing this mass immigration. I have read recently that we are allowing people in at a rate of one every minute! Sooner or later the bubble is going to burst and we will have one very huge problem.
Now wait for this to be deleted and for me to be ostracised! Lol.

I live in Middlesbrough and we already have 55 official languages spoken here!

I quite agree. It is all to do with post-colonial guilt & political correctness. The various well-meaning institutions in the UK are responsible for creating the situation you describe. A civilised society in a highly-developed country like the UK would go out of its way to accomodate strangers. 3rd world countries (viz. Somalia, Pakistan, etc.) have too many problems to care about immigrants (not that there would be that many who would want to settle there). East-European countries, on the other hand, such as Albania and Slovakia are too nationalistic to welcome anyone from outside.

If they are still complaining, it is possible that they are aware of being disadvantaged by the dominant cultures and/or groups. If these dominant groups are unaware of the advantages that they have (invisable priviledge) it would come off as senseless chatter. Paulo Freire writes about the nature of oppression and the reactions that oppressed groups have to advantage, disadvantage, and contradictions within a society that negatively impact them. Paulo writes about how it is easier to argue that a disadvantaged group is whining senselessly than for members of the dominant group to leave the safety of the priviledge to explore the deeper underlying causes of social unrest for disadvantaged groups.
It appears that you are already aware of the unrest within these groups, the next step is to search with honesty and integrity for the underlying causes of unrest. Groups are rarely at unrest for absolutely no reason. Their struggle is real to them and cannot be simplified by slogans. In finding what oppresses other groups we often find those things which have bound us as well. I myself have found it very liberating to search beyond the surface and beyond the television, and beyond conversations I pick up in lunchrooms and offices.
Good luck!
PS Political correctness is a largely misunderstood process. It has more to do with proactively taking steps to prevent genocide within a global community that is connected through social systems that are often largely inspired by language.
Try googling "Pyramid of Hate" and looking for the pyramid shaped diagram. It is a real eye opener.

I'm sorry you re so angry
but the immigrants from India have built up the country and the NHS is in dire straits as the Indian doctors are retiring or moving abroad
I havent seen any Indian demand what you say and i think it unfair to say that since the Brits walked over to India and took it over and exploited it like the other countries in the empire for a mere 150 years
oh and they ruled taking the jewels from temples and removing artifact and religious idols
i dont see any Indians walking in to Westminster abbey and St Paul's and doing that
then the world wars the Brits put Sikhs without proper warm clothing in the front lines behind which the Brits hid to die first out of malnutrition and front force attacks in places like Siberia and eastern Europe and were they pensioned off like the other British service men
of course not
Indians have built up the country economically and in all professional areas
I m not really sure which leg you are standing on but your foundation is very dodgy

think of Phil nailed it. different venture is you have one pal you assert and dew others met? I stayed in u . s . for somewhat it sluggish, met quite a few people who could desire to I decide u . s . via them, such as you're doing to White South Africans, then i could make so lots extra worse comments than purely call them smug. think of of subculture to boot. Met some NZ adult men in Iraq jointly as "happening a flow to" there - can say precisely same of them if i wanted too yet what for? in the event that they do no longer fit in then enable them to flow away. uncomplicated. Australia seems to be doing to no longer undesirable on that one!

I have to agree with you to a point . Not all immigrants behave that way though . I have many friends who live here and have moved from other countries. All they want is to adapt and follow our rules and our ways. Please don't label all immigrants the same way . As that is not always the case. In our society we tend to stereotype far too often.

I don't know how things are in the UK but the US has a similar issue which is being discussed in Congress at the moment.
However! this is the LGBT section of yahoo answers. You are in the wrong place. Maybe you should take your question to politics or something.
ps. and yahoo UK.

Great question. I'm so sick of people who have come to my country (Ireland) & keep on slagging the way we do things, the weather, the way we build things etc. My point is this, if its so bad, & the people are so bad, why dont they go home? Simple. Because they have never had it so good! I got so sick of the eastern europeans slagging this country, i went to Poland in March 2 see for myself. & they have it like kings here. So please be thankful. & stop complaing about something thats not yours!!!

I feel you pain my friend. The US has a bit of the same problem.
Does the UK have issues with illegal immigrant demanding equal rights as well?
How about illegals sneaking across the border to have children so their kids are citizens (free of charge)?
