I went to www.plannedparenthood.com and it said that Emergency Contraception is to be taken within 120 hours of unprotected sex. However, on the package itself, it says "must be taken within and no later than 72 hours of unprotected sex." So ok, which one is it?

The earlier the better, after 72 hours, the risk of it not working increases dramatically. Within 72 hours is the best bet.

120 hours. It's most effective within the first 72 hours. However, it can still be effective up to 120 hours, but less so. If you've gotten it within the first 72 hours then take it ASAP, rather than waiting.

It's most effective with-in the first 72 hours but it can work up untill 120 hrs. And don't worry if you do end up pregnant the plan B wont effect the baby. Take them ASAP!! Good luck I hope this helps!!

I would follow the box. The people who make the drugs write up what the box says. They would know better than the people at Planned Parenthood.
