Absolutely. Getting in shape allows the body to work as it was originally designed and can regulate hormones levels and affect ovulation as well as the menstral cycle and every other system in the body. Getting in shape is ALWAYS a good idea.

Some women have the heavy periods turn lighter and more manageable or regular after getting in shape. Other women who were having trouble conceiving find it easier after loosing weight and becoming more active so there DEFINATELY is a connection.

If you overdo it yes. If you over diet or diet badly cutting out vital nutrients and vitamins your body needs your body stops being suitable as a vessel for procreation, therefore you stop menstruating or might just skip one or have spotting. Sort of like anorexics stop having periods or famine victimes.
They are extreme cases but it starts off small. Some die-hard athletes espceially marathon runners have problems with their menstrual cycle. Because they are putting too much stress on their body and burning off too much of the good stuff.

I used to have severe cramps and once I started watching what I ate and getting at least 30 minutes of exercise every day it really did make a change. My cramps weren't as bad and my period wasn't as heavy. Good luck.

If you exercise frequently and lose a lot of body fat, your period can become substantially lighter or even stop altogether.
Since I started exercising regularly, my period is not only lighter but it is also shorter. I have less cramps too.

yes...sometimes it puts your cycle on hold for a couple weeks and sometimes it comes earlier then expected
