The constitution states that each person is equal and and has the right to vote and each vote is equall in value. If this is true than why are lobyist groups legal. If the citizens have a problem they contact their representative be it a letter, phone call or petition. One person one vote. If a corportate has a problem they send a lobyist with pockets full of money and buy a vote. When are you going to give the people their government back. I want a government for the people. Not what we currently have which is a government for the corporations. Lobyist should be illegal. If a corporation wants something change they should only be given the same options as the people have which contact their representative via phone email, letter or petition. Please advise.

The problem is that the corporations do have the same access that we have. They just do it better because they have a professional hired to do it. That person is, of course, the lobbyist.

You could also hang out in the halls of congress and try to persuade members to your point of view but no one would pay you for it.

I hate it too.

lobbying becomes a problem when our society grants to "corporations" a legal status somewhat akin to that of individuals. Corporations are treated as human beings. Therefore, it is assumed that corporations have rights, etc. And these rights are protected under the Bill of Rights pretty much the same as for you and I. When we yank off this curtain, and expose corporations to the "light" of public scrutiny, you'll see the lobbyists (and crooked politicians) scurry like rodents once the light is on.

This is how it will be until the People decide to change it.

As long as the majority of voters keep buying the "lesser of two evils" game, it won't change.

Personally, I vote Libertarian as much as possible. When that's not possible, I usually vote against the one that already has the office. One of my favorite bumper stickers read "Don't Re-Elect NOBODY!"

as it stands rignt now - never.

the people who run our nation are not as good, smart or morally grounded as the average american.

i personally think that bribery is wrong - literally 100% of our elected leaders disagree with me and drape themselves in the flag when they say it's ok for them to sell my best interests down the drain to corporate and foreign interests.

Thought provoking question. I would love to see a candidate step up for the constitution, instead of big business.

I agree whole heartidly. We (people like you and I) need to take back the government, they aren't going to give it back to us. We need to throw the bums out and get independants or a new party in.

"When are you going to give the people their government back."

You can ask, you can plead, you can beg on bended knee but I'm NEVER gonna give it back. So there! And stop asking before I come over there and give you a good beating.
