Most gay people say that they were born gay, and some have attempted to not be gay due to discrimination and persecution. They have realized that it is something that cannot be changed.

Scientific researchers have also shown that being gay is based on biological and genetic factors.

Even the ultra conservative president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has said that scientific research "points to some level of biological causation" for homosexuality & "I am absolutely confident that a large number of homosexuals are telling the truth when they say they did not choose that orientation."

An October 2004 scientific research publication stated that scientists at the University of Padua have found that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same genetic factors linked to homosexuality in men. This fertility boost more than compensates for the lack of offspring fathered by gay men, and keeps the “gay” genetic factors in circulation.

Another study published in Human Genetics in February 2006 examined X chromosome inactivation in mothers of gay sons and mothers whose sons were not gay. Researchers found extreme differences between women who had gay sons and women who did not.

A Canadian university study published in June of 2006 stated that, although researchers have known for years that a man's likelihood of being gay rises with the number of older biological brothers, that the new study found that the so-called "fraternal birth order effect" persists even if gay men were raised away from their biological families.

i believe that people are born gay. I don't think anyone would want to choose to be treated differantly when the only differance is whom they fall in love with and who they choose to be with. Which in reality i don't think it's anyone's business but they're own. They shouldn't be treated any differant just because they fall in love with someone of the same sex. Who cares just let people live there lives and be happy. Sexual orientaion shouldn't be as important as the quality of a person of who they are and what a great person they are

There are multiple factors that can cause this to happen in a person's life. For me, it had to do with:
1) my father running off with the neighbor lady, leaving me to think men are jerks.
2) I was a tomboy and dressed as the stereotype so people asked me all the time if I was a lesbian. - boys didn't like me cuz I looked like a boy, in fact they were very mean to me, leading me to think all boys are scum too. With all male humans being idiots and jerks, there is only one other option if you are looking to be loved.
3) Believing the lie of Satan that told me that maybe those people were right. When I believed, my thoughts and feelings followed.

So, Eventually I learned to reverse the process, find out what God said about me, He's my Creator, He knows who I am, and He told me that homosexuality is a sin, therefore, I can choose to leave it. Through His help, I found freedom, I found truth, and I got straightened out. Thank you Jesus!

I was born with it I know it is a sin because it is written in the Bible, but I have homosexual compulsions that lead me astray. so I don't think it is a choice, but if it where I'd be straight all the way.

You can not be born gay, because it is defiantly not natural. I can understand loving someone but someone of the same sex is just being great friends. Love doesn't mean you have to have sex with the person. It means you really enjoy them and there company. If you really loved someone you wouldn't have sex. You love your mom, and dad and you sure as hell don't go having sex with them do you? Also if being gay was natural you would have male dogs screwing male dogs and female dogs screwing female dogs.

Here we go again.

It is genetic. We were born that way.

Someone is bound to tell you that we have a choice (gay or straight) - we don't other than on how we act upon what the gentics have made us.

People don't always fall for the opposite gender. I believe if you love them, gender shouldn't be a concern. Love is Love. It has no racism or prejudice.
