You may need to add nutrients (good idea no matter what the soil is). I lived in Florida and we had all sand. My plants and veggies grew fine. I would buy a moisture meter to check when they need watering.

Yes, you will have problems. Here's what you will need: If it's outdoors, use good quality potting soil. If it's indoors, use worm castings. Worm castings, or vermicast are even more loaded with nutrients than potting soil, but they attract worms which could eat your veggies. You can track down this stuff at www.1800TOPSOIL.com, or try calling 1-800-TOPSOIL to see if they serve your city. They're national and they're fantastic. Good luck, and sorry about the Knicks. (I'm from Detroit.)

Compost your leaves for next year, super soil amendment.

Don't think you'll have any problems, especially if you starded the seeds indoors to transplant later. Short growing season up North, but vegies from seed can grow nicely. Fertilize with MiracleGro bi-weekly.

happy gardening

You will have problems depending on what kind of veggies u want to plant. Putting them in clay pots will be OK. You can also ask your local agriculture extension for advise on how to improve your soil.
