Replacing valve cover gaskets is one of the simpler jobs on an engine.
Do it right the first time.
Replace them.

A valve cover gasket is cheap and the process is so easy that even I can do it.
I would recommend replacing it. The only thing you need to make sure of is that once you have the cover off that you clean the contacting surfaces really well.

live with the leak...nothings gonna fix it for long except replacing it and doing it right this time

Clean area and silicone, fastest and cheapest.
