I tried everything to get rid of the smell, but it seems it's getting worse each day.

There is a cleaning agents out there that is specially made for situations like this. !st off if no toilet malfunctions remove everything from around it. Now clean it and the floor, hopefully it has a sealer around the base.
Now clean it with sporicide. Sporicide is a powerful disinfectant, fungicide, deodorizer and sterilizer all in one package.
Oh if there is carpet around it, do what you must to get it removed and out of the place!
Used in all hospitals!

You need to determine if it is the toilet or the area around it. The wax seal may have failed and it is allowing sewer gas to enter your apartment. If you decide to use bleach, turn off the water supply valve and flush. Then lift the flapper and pour a bleach water mixture down the hole under the flapper. Let it sit a while to sanitize the inside of the rim and then turn the water back on and flush. Using bleach in the tank will deteriorate the working parts.

You may have to get your landlord to check it out. It may be the grease ring that goes under the toilet. It can easily be replaced and I know that over time it gets so funky and stinks!!
