i understand it's free, but to forbid someone to PAY for their healthcare............

It's not free......employers have to remit 2% of an employees' gross income monthly to the health care people and we also pay a substantial amount of income tax for this purpose.

Canadians can get their healthcare anywhere if they are willing to pay. Doctors are not allowed to charge Canadians for their service up here. They can only be compensated by our Health Care system.

They do pay through taxes . Many pay a second time when they come to the US to get medical care that they cannot get in Canada on a timely basis.
