what could be the cause of this? Should I be concearned? I have an automatic 02 pontiac sunfire. any help please!

It could be a simple vacuum hose came off the intake somewhere, stuck EGR valve, loose spark plug wire.
It's tough to troubleshoot online.
Pop the hood and look around, and listen for a sucking noise when the engine is running.
Gently pull on the spark plug boots to see if one is loose.

Also check the idle control valve.

Check the fuel filter, fuel injection system, it might need cleaning, you may just need a major tune up also
