I'm living in France and I just want to ask you, dear Americans, what do you think about our new president Sarkozy.
Did you know he's doing jogging every day, like Bush! Does that means he will be a good president, like Bush....?

@CulturalWiz: well, the thing is, Sarkozy ador Bush! He told Bush that France was arrogant not helping in Irak war. For me the decision of Chirac was the good one: no war!

I'm not sure that Sarkozy will be a good president. And when you said that Bush is a good president, do you really think that all the young Americans (and the other young people that wanted the green card) who dead in Irak are thinking like you?

First off, do you REALLY think that Bush has been a good president? If so, then any other answers you receive won't make sense.
Sarkozy has an opportunity to be good if he gets a legislature that agrees with him and if he balances the needed changes with an understanding of French sensibilities. There are definite modifications to French employment laws that will be necessary to make France more successful, and they will be difficult for the French workers to accept. He needs to be firm, but not to the point that he alienates people. They need to see the logic in the decisions and they need to be kept informed. If he does this, then he has a chance to be a very influential president.

Do you think that the people who answered your question are the only one who speak english on QR ? LOL
Well, for you question I think that jogging is really a good way to stay fit and to be fit is THE quality needed for a President, to run everywhere just like SarCocaCola, not like the Flamby one who can't have good ideas because he doesn't run :)))

It would have been a good idea to ask that on the american Yahoo Q/As... don't you think so?
And I bet you would have had a few answers like: does he run to be able to do as the french soldiers when then see an ennemy?

I have to see a bit more before I can say for sure...I am an American who lived in France 7 months.
I personally felt he was a fascist, but until I come to know more about him I will reserve my judgment.

If he can help you to reduce your crippling social spending and help jumpstart your economy then he will be a good president. George Bush certainly never met a handout he didn't like (compassionate conservative).
Sarkozy won by a pretty good margin, give him a chance. Personally, I think too much of the ingrained socialist mentality of the rest of the government will be against him and he won't be able to achieve any real reform.
