Yes they can.... should they? that would be really up to the baby. I say if she is sleeping fine at night on its tummy, let them.

Of course most pedis and docs will tell you that the safest place for a baby to sleep is on his back.
However, my 7 month old always rolls onto his stomach to sleep. I am a fanatic about SIDS and make sure there isn't anything in the crib that may cause suffocation or hinder his breathing.

Chances are the baby at 7 months will roll to the stomach regardless of how you put them down. Still put baby back down and if they end up on the stomach, that's fine.

If you start the baby on its back and they can roll over then yes its not a problem. My daughter is 7 months every night we put her to bed we lay her on her back right a way she rolls to on her side by morning she is on her tummy. its not an issues if wasnt comfortable she wouldnt sleep like that.

If the baby is strong enough to roll over to it's stomach and back again, it's OK to let them sleep on thier stomach if they move that way. (start them on thier back and let them move to the front on their own if they do)

You should try to keep a baby on his/her back for as long as possible. However, once my babies started rolling over on their own, I couldn't get them to stay on their backs. My pediatrician said that if they are rolling onto their stomachs on their own there isn't much you can do about it.

As soon as your baby can roll over, they are ok to sleep on their belly. If you're uncomfortable with it, or still nervous. Keep an extra close eye on him/her during naps or just don't do it.
Mine started doing it on his own at 4.5 months.

My daughter is 4 months...our ped says that when she can roll from front to back and back to front consistently, she can sleep on her stomach. Hope that helps.

yes, your baby can roll over. I would still put her/him on his back to sleep, bc she'll find her own comfy position as she rolls around the crib.
