That depends on 'who he is' and how I feel about him ... and whether it is 'appropriate' to wear shorts and 'knee sox' (and a shirt, because you can't go to ANY restaurant with no shirt) or not. My husband and I just went to 'the most expensive' restaurant we've EVER eaten at, that is on a PIER on our waterfront. The 'dress' there was far more 'casual' than at most 'fancy' restaurants ... but the food and the service were EXCELLENT, and we'll definitely 'go back there' to eat again. Yes, my husband may wear 'shorts' (he would NEVER wear knee-socks, though, because he's 'hairy like a bear') if it's a hot day on the weekend ... and I'd be comfortable in my 'overaged hippy attire' that I also wear on some weekends ... and the 'service' would be just as 'good' as it was when we ate there on Friday. So ... my answer is 'two parts' ... How do you 'feel' about that guy? and Is is 'appropriate' to wear more 'casual attire' ... and if your answer is 'He's very, very special' and 'Yes, it is appropriate' then I'd say 'GO FOR IT. Otherwise ... nope. He may be the one who isn't 'dressed properly' but as the female it will be YOUR REPUTATION on the line, and you may be taken to the same restaurant later by a 'much better' guy ... and you don't want 'rude service' or 'less service' because of your 'bobble' there the first time.

No. I had a foul journey with a co-worker at a Vegas convention. He desperate to take place to a fancy dinner with a customer we've been dating wearing sea coast sandals with white socks, khakis and a quick-sleeve polo shirt. superb assessment to the cocktail outfits of each and every person else and the stainless adventure of the customer… unsure how we've been even enable interior the eating place, yet i ought to sense the staff’s ridicule while serving us, and as superficial because it could sound, we didn’t get the customer.

I would politely ask him to remove the kneesocks, perhaps telling him he's far to sexy for his socks. Then bow out and get a burger on the way home!
