Last night when i went for a shower, i noticed there was water spurting out the tube connecting the water from the tap to the shower head and it wasn't just a trickle, it has never happened before and i tried to tighten it up as that seems to be the problem but it wouldn't secure in place, should i get the plumber in or can i sort this myself?? We have a shower curtain so i don't have to clean up puddles of water later.

It could just be the tube that is the problem. You can just go ahead and buy a new one. If that doesn't work you might want to see if there is something more going on and call a plumber.

You will need to do a close-up inspection and see if the connection is just leaking or the pipe has vibrated and caused a crack in it.
