after reading some of ur posts on my last question i began talking with a potential trade partner, here are the players he has that i would like.

Smoltz
Justin Verlander
Aramis Ramierez
Helton
Utley
Molina

He wants Andruw jones and potential someone to fill the utility spot if he gives up aramis. (he has reyes at SS, so SS isn't a need as i have 3, which is to many) Also keep in mind i have hafner at utility

So i have Carlos Guillen, Gary Matthews Jr., JJ Hardy, Mike Lowell, Abreu, Rowand, Brandon Phillips, Peralta as the players I'm willing to give up. I would like pitching help.

So far here is what i was thinking

Andruw and Hardy for Smoltz and Ramirez.

or

long shot here but hardy and andruw for chase utley

in the last couple weeks he has been bugging me for jones, so i might be able to get something good out of him.

thanks again for all ur help, this is my first year in fantasy baseball

Both of those thoughts look like long shots to me. A lot of people don't think Hardy can continue on the pace he's on, and it hurts his trade value a lot. If he wants Jones, and you have enough power otherwise, trade straight across for Smoltz or Verlander if he'd take it. There was a question I answered an hour ago reagrding a straight Jones for Smoltz swap, so I don't think that's entirely out of the realm of possibility. Keep in mind that Jones has been struggling, so the guy might be trying to get him on the cheap.
If i were you I might try and do Hardy and Jones for Smoltz, just to get it done, and because you have other SS options.

Well it would take knowing the rest of the players on his team to really know what kind of deal you could work out. However, going by this I would not sell Jones right now because of his slow start. More than likely you will not get Utley. To be honest I would trade Hafner for Verlander and maybe even Molina that way you can play Hardy and Guillen. I personally hate having just DH guys because they take a spot that can be quite useful when you are deep at position like you are at SS.

Jones and Hardy for Smoltz and Ramirez would be a great trade for you. Get it done if you can.

screw giving him hardy(hardy is going to have a greatseason) give him lowell and jones for smoltz and ramirez he wants a 3rd basemen so give him yours its and upgrade for you (jones is also off to a very slow start, your getting the better end of the deal)

i would trade for justin verlander. have him on my team and he has some of the best stuff. i am a homey and love my tigers but this guy is basically unhittable. i would trade lowell for verlander straight up if you can afford that loss of a good stick. hes the only one on that list i would even consider trading for. sounds like you have a decent team so get verlander!!! pitching always wins even in fantasy baseball
