The main character's family was murdered and now she has to decide whether she'll live with her uncle in california, who is abusive(but she doesn't know it), or live with her boyfriend's family, in council bluffs. She feels like she is a burden to her boyfriend's family and she doesn't know her uncle all that well.I will greatly appreciate it if you answer this question.

She lives with her boyfriend for only two weeks because she does not want to continue living with him without being married and her uncle is against it and keeps telling her to live with him because he has an empty room and designs it with her favorites. Then when she moves in with her uncle he starts to baggier her mentally and when her boyfriend comes to visit her uncle lies and says she is not home or left with another male friend always something that she has to explain to her boyfriend. Her uncle begins to demolish her room of her favorites little by little and replaces them with things from his childhood reminding him of when he was abused. The boyfriend and her decide to separate for two months and then get back together after they have had some space. So he doesn't call or go over. During this time the uncle starts his crap. I hope I helped!

If she is a minor then the choice is not her own. The government will place her and if they are not aware of the fact that her uncle is abusive then she will go to him because family always gets custody unless they refuse to take the responsibility.

If the family were to refuse the girl would end up being moved into a foster care situation. Again, depending on her age. Assuming she is an adolescent she will probably be put into a group home situation. However, it is unlikely that she would be allowed to stay with her boyfriend whether she wanted to do so or not.

What is the question, exactly?

The answer will be completely dictated on the story you are writing. If the story is about the main character being abused, then she'd have to choose to go to her Uncle's house... if the story is about the main character living with her boyfriend's family, then make her choose to go there.

Otherwise, there's no question to answer. The first question you must ask is "What is the plot of my story"

The abusive uncle angle has been done to death. Boyfriend's family has a lot more potential. You could even have the uncle show up wanting her to come with him.

Make her live with her uncle it will make for a good climax when she goes to runaway from him and back to her boyfriend for a good reunion.
