What a great question! I love the ones that I've never thought of...

So the answer to your question is yes, they use it and no, not for textiles.

It turns out that they use it to strengthen (or "armor") lime and hydraulic mortars used in stone work.

Back in the day, it was also apparently used for carpet cushioning.

Hope this helps!

I believe this falls under the category of animal by-products.

for example, chicken feathers are tossed in with chicken by-products.

You probably eat this crap every day. By happy. Be a carnivore.

They remove the "hair" as part of the tanning process...
That I know of..no one has invented a way of using it exclusive of the skin....
Maybe YOU should invent a process????!!!!

I imagine it could be used, but I think usually, they just scrape it off and tan the leather.

They sell it to doctors who perform hair transplants and tell people its their own. Come on now what else would they do with it. You mean to tell me they actually pull hair from one part of your head then move some where else. Wouldn't that make you bald somewhere else?

I think they just pour it in with the leftover organs and make hot dogs.
