Since 36 weeks, I've been measuring 36 weeks. This is my second pregnancy. I'm now 39 weeks. It my last appt. my midwife didn't seem concerned, she said that the baby has probably dropped therefore making the measurements off. I was just wondering if there would be a concern- my appt. is tomorrow- if I'm still only measuring 36 weeks. What are some reasons for this besides the baby dropping?

After 36 weeks, all sorts of fun and weirdness ensues. If there is no more room in your body, there is no more room and the uterus will not stretch anymore upward. I would tend to agree with your midwife, the baby probably dropped into your pelvis. There really isn't any reason to be worried, try to find other things to do beside worry (yeah right). The waiting at the end of pregnancy is the toughest part of parenting.

I was the same way. I measure right on until week 37 then I was a week behind every week. My midwife said the same thing that he had dropped or he could be in a different position. It is nothing to worry about, she said it is very normal to not measure on after week 36.

none really apart from that. Its fine, don't worry, measuring a couple of cms off doesn't make any difference anyway, whatever stage of pregnancy u are at.

how has your weight gain been?, if its still steadily climbing, you probably don't have much to worry about... the baby could have dropped like your MW said.
