It doesn't matter, most babies don't turn until later or keep turning until later. If late in pregnancy the baby is still breech, there is some procedure called external cephalic version (ECV) that they can use to try to turn the baby head down, as well as some 'exercises' you can do at home. Ask your doctor if/when the time comes, something like 10 weeks from now.
If by low-lying placenta you mean (partial) placenta previa you might have a problem though. I think your placenta could still move, but if it doesn't then you'll have to have a c-section, breech or not.

The placenta can sometimes buffer the feeling of kicks and thumps so that may have something to do with it. Babies are actually usually right side up until they are nearly 30-33 weeks gestation, so it probably doesn't matter. It sounds normal to feel the best kicks under the belly button until Jr decided to go head down later in pregnancy, sounds like everything is fine. Best wishes

Depends on how tall it is for one. My mom and her ex had major height differences therefore when she was preg with my sister, my sister couldnt turn. The doctors told my mom she was turned the right way when in truth they were feeling her butt. My mom went into labor early about 3 times and they kept stopping it. The last time mom kept having contractions and luckily her water didnt break. They had to do an emergency c-section and told my mom that if her water would have broke my sister would have suffocated. My mom nvr sued the doctor that told her my sis was turned right but she should have. So if there is a chance the baby cant turn u may want to have a second opinion to be sure.

Ok i have a website for you! I was breach all the way from 23 weeks to 33 weeks when i went into labor and he flipped on his own! Your placenta could have a lot to do with it! When your doctor checks you if they think you are they will say something but being breach at 23 weeks is no cause for concern! so relax!

at 23 weeks, it doesn't matter which postition he/she's in so i wouldn't worry yet. however, it DOES sound like the baby might be breech to me, as i am 33 weeks pregnant with my second breech baby and i have the same symptoms of kicking placement, etc. unfortunately, it looks like another c-section for me ): i don't think the placenta placement should effect how the baby lies, as most cords run 2 feet long.
good luck to you!!!

At 23 weeks the babys position doesn't really matter much. They will be in many positions at that point. They are still doing somersaults ;-)
My baby was head down at my last appointment but my doctor doesn't really pay attention until I'm 36+ weeks. I just asked and I'm 33 weeks.

well going by what you said...she is KICKING below your belly button. She sounds like she's standing with her head up...she could just be tall. I'd wait until your next ultrasound but if you're really concerned call your doc.
Congrats and Good Luck!
